Pregnancy & Baby Show

On Saturday the 24th April we took part in Horley NCT Pregnancy & Baby Show for the first time and had great response from those who visited. Largest Trade Show In Europe

On the 11th April we attended the ‘Natural & Organic Products Europe 2010’ The largest trade show of its kind in Europe. This is always a great day out and a fantastic place for finding new natural and organic products and health foods alongside interesting seminars from the organic sector. This year the show had over 500 exhibitors from all around the world and as we weaved our way through them we bumped into many that we have met before, or currently stock and a few that, fingers crossed if testing goes well we will be bringing to you soon. Gosh what a busy few weeks. On the 3rd April 2010 we hosted a stall at The Pantiles Easter Market in Royal Tunbridge Wells This was the first time we had been a part of this market in the Pantiles area of Tunbridge Wells. The sun managed to shine and lots of people attended the coffee shops, bars and stalls along this famous historic area. We had a great time meeting lots of new people and showing off our new selection of candles, natural crafts and organic skin care. We have also been to the prestigious Mansion House Market in both February and April with a new range of products. We hope to soon add these items to our website once the photography has been done. Exciting stuff!

We would just like to say well done and thanks to all those parents & carers who enjoyed a cup of coffee, chat and cake at The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Charity. Across the country, and in several other parts of the world, thousands of people held or attending coffee mornings on Friday the 25th of September to raise money for people affected by cancer. We joined a fantastic group of fellow coffee drinkers at a lovely venue in Weald near Sevenoaks in Kent. It was great to be involved, help raise money for such a great charity and have a good chat at the same time. Say No To Paraffin Based Candles

In the last few weeks there has been lots of press in the UK about the negative effects of Paraffin In Candles. Why oh why do candle makers still use this ingredient we ask ourselves? With some saying paraffin based candles can be linked to lung cancer and asthma why bother when there are alternatives such as beeswax or soy. These alternatives produce no detectable levels of harmful chemicals but can still give us a warm glow that can set a romantic mood or simply help relax us while in the bath. We here at The Organic Collective have recently read that in the last 2yrs the UK has lost a third of its bee colonies. This is shocking as the benefits of bees are well known in both farming and conservation. The Soil Association are currently running a petition to push the UK government to ban neonicotinoids which is a pesticide already banned in several other EU countries and is believed to be linked to the decline in the Honeybee.
